Knoxville, TN —UT SWORPS announces the launch of the Access and Visitation (AV) Program, dedicated to supporting non-custodial parents across Tennessee who want to build or maintain meaningful relationships with their children. For parents who have never been married to each other and face barriers to visitation, the AV Program offers free, comprehensive services designed to prioritize the best interests of children.
What the AV Program Offers:
- Assistance in drafting parenting plans
- Linkage to legal services when needed
- Access to mediation and supervised visitation arrangements
- Connection to non-therapeutic counseling support
- Coordination with juvenile courts and child support services
- Identification of community partners and resources for successful co-parenting
Through these services, participants can establish safe and stable visitation arrangements, develop clear parenting plans, and strengthen parent-child bonds. The program also helps parents navigate the child support and court systems effectively while connecting them to community resources that foster healthy co-parenting.
Why It Matters
Children thrive when both parents are actively and appropriately involved in their lives. The AV Program, in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Human Services and local communities, provides trauma-informed support to ensure positive pathways for ongoing parental involvement.
Service Area
The AV Program serves parents throughout Tennessee.
